Capture, record and annotate — without ever leaving the menu bar.
Screenshot lives in your menu bar and stays out of the way. Eight global shortcuts cover every kind of capture — full screen, region, window, full-resolution Retina, OCR, and three recording modes. Recordings capture system audio and your microphone together. Everything lands in a folder you choose, with a markup editor and searchable history one click away.

Full screen, region, window, and a high-quality mode that grabs every display at full native Retina resolution as lossless PNG.
Record the screen, a region, or a single window that the recording follows as you move it — with system audio and microphone captured together.
Select any region and the text lands on your clipboard. On-device via Vision — nothing is uploaded.
Arrows, shapes, pen, highlighter, text, redaction and crop — rendered at the image's native resolution, saved as a copy so the original is never touched.
Every still and recording in a Quick Look grid. Double-click to open, drag straight into Slack or Figma, right-click for markup, OCR and more.
Drive every capture mode from the terminal — delays, clipboard-only grabs, timed recordings with audio source and output path.
System-wide and fully rebindable in Settings. Hold ⌃ with any still capture to copy to the clipboard without writing a file.

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Screenshot.app"No. Captures are written to a folder you choose, OCR runs on-device through Apple's Vision framework, and the app makes no network requests.
