Help with installing SOQL AI, connecting it to Salesforce and getting the most out of it.

We'll never ask for your Salesforce password, security token, access token or OpenAI key. Remove them from anything you send.
For a safe place to try everything, sign up for a free Salesforce Developer Edition org.
The web app runs at http://localhost:8080 once the Docker services are started.
Open the connection menu in the top bar (⇧⌘O) and choose Add a connection. Pick Production, Sandbox or Custom domain, then one of:
Works with SSO and multi-factor authentication and needs no setup in Salesforce. Click Log in through the CLI, sign in in the browser and click Allow, or choose an org you've already authorised with Show my CLI orgs. You can also run:
sf org login web --alias my-org --instance-url https://login.salesforce.com
Opens the Salesforce login page. Your administrator needs an External Client App (or Connected App) in the same org, with the callback URL http://localhost:8080/api/salesforce/oauth/callback and the scopes api, refresh_token and id.
Get your security token in Salesforce from your avatar › Settings › Reset My Security Token. Salesforce emails it to you.
Saved connections appear as buttons in the top bar. Click one to switch org or user. Production orgs show a PROD badge, and you can make any connection read-only from the connection menu.
Generate, Optimize and Explain use OpenAI with the API key in the app's configuration (OPENAI_API_KEY, and optionally OPENAI_MODEL). If your OpenAI project can't use the configured model, SOQL AI switches to one it can use. The assistant sees your question, the query text and the names and types of the objects and fields involved, never your records. See the Privacy Policy.
Salesforce rejected the sign-in. Check the username and the environment (Production or Sandbox), and reset your security token if your password changed. Stop after one or two attempts: repeated failures can lock the Salesforce user. SOQL AI pauses the shared server login for 15 minutes after a rejection for the same reason. The CLI import avoids passwords and tokens altogether.
The Consumer Key isn't recognised by the org you're signing in to. The External Client App must be in that same org (a sandbox has its own), the key and secret must match, and Salesforce can take up to 10 minutes to recognise a new app. Use the CLI import in the meantime.
Recent Salesforce CLI versions hide the access token in sf org display. Update SOQL AI to the latest version, which reads it the new way, then import again. If you paste CLI output by hand, paste the output of both commands:
sf org display --target-org my-org --json sf org auth show-access-token --target-org my-org --json
The org has expired or can't be reached (Developer Edition and scratch orgs expire when unused). Sign in to it again with sf org login web.
The engine isn't running. In the Mac app, check View › Engine. For the Docker engine, make sure Docker Desktop is running. Then open the engine log (see Logs).
Fixed in the current version. Update SOQL AI. The error now also names the field that failed.
Your OpenAI project doesn't allow that model. The current version switches to a model the project can use. To choose one yourself, enable it under Project › Limits › Model access in the OpenAI dashboard, or set OPENAI_MODEL.
Your org uses State and Country picklists. Use full names from Salesforce's list (United States, California), not codes such as USA or CA, or map codes to BillingCountryCode and BillingStateCode. After a partial failure, use Keep only the failed rows to retry without creating duplicates.
A Salesforce duplicate rule matched your new records against existing ones. Make the records more distinct (name, email, phone), or ask your administrator whether the rule should allow saving with an alert.
That's intentional. Changes are refused on read-only connections and on the shared server login, need the developer or admin role in SOQL AI, and need a typed PRODUCTION confirmation on production orgs.
Pick a connection in the top bar (⇧⌘O). If a saved connection has expired, sign in to it again.
Developer Edition orgs have little data storage. Check Org limits › Data storage, and delete test records you no longer need, emptying them from the recycle bin.
~/Library/Logs/SOQL AI/engine.log, or View › Engine › Show Engine Log.docker compose -p soql-ai logs backendEmail support@solvixalabs.com with:
Before you send anything, remove passwords, tokens, API keys and any customer data. A query with its filter values replaced is usually enough for us to reproduce a problem.
SOQL AI keeps its data on your machine. To remove it all:
~/Library/Application Support/SOQL AI and ~/Library/Logs/SOQL AI.docker compose -p soql-ai down -vThis doesn't change anything in Salesforce. To revoke SOQL AI's access there, remove the session or connected app under your Salesforce user settings, or run sf org logout for CLI sessions.
